POV - You get to make your own rules

POV - You get to make your own rules

Hello again Stitchers!

As I continue my personal embroidery journey, I have found there are "rules" that most people follow.

Guess what, you don't have to follow them!  You're allowed to decide if they work for you or not.

For me, here are some "rules" I don't follow:

  • I don't split my thread individually - I'm not sure why I don't follow it - maybe it's because my brain is moving to fast and I want them split NOW
  • I don't use invisible knots.  I just don't. I put a knot at the end of every single thread...
  • I don't always the stitch recommendations when doing a pattern. There are some stitches that I don't like or think I' as good at.

Why do I love embroidery?  Because it doesn't matter if I follow the "rules" to a T.  I've tried crochet and knitting and needlepoint but if you miss one stitch, you can ruin the whole project.

What rules do you not follow (is that grammatically correct?)?

Ally
